Who I am, my experience and passion
Nicola K Clarke BSc RD
I am a registered dietitian with 10 years of clinical experience in the NHS. I have worked across various settings including GP surgeries, community clinics and hospital wards. I am an advanced specialist in diabetes having worked with several specialist multi-disciplinary diabetes services in London.
I am the founder of NKC Nutrition UK which provides dietetic support for businesses and private client appointments. I have supported companies and start-ups to provide expertise on development of new menus, meals and apps.
I am an accomplished speaker and educator, having presented to members of the public, university students, patient groups, GPs, consultants, nurses and commissioners at a range of events on subjects such as dietary practices, mental health and wellbeing and service improvement. I am accredited to deliver structured education programmes for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
I am an advocate for better mental wellbeing and take a keen interest in areas such as mindfulness, relaxation, sleep habits, movement and stress management. I am well read on the principles of Intuitive Eating and am passionate about helping people to reconnect with food. I do not believe in traditional dieting and take a more holistic approach to improve your health and wellbeing.

My passion is supporting individuals to improve their health and wellbeing through straight-talking evidence-based advice. I have a wealth of knowledge and NHS experience working with individuals with pre-diabetes and diabetes and want to support more people to help achieve their goals.
Information online can be so contradictory. I believe dietary advice does not need to be complicated. I have seen many people improve their blood glucose (sugar) control and overall health through diet and lifestyle change alone. I also believe that this does not mean you need to eat a bland diet!
The environment we live in these days is unfortunately not conducive of a healthy lifestyle and many of us fall victim to this. But there are ways to rise above it, be food savvy, save money and be healthier. I take a holistic approach, considering all aspects of our day-to-day lives to strive towards overall wellbeing.
